Description

  • Seals approximately 55.85 x 20.19 x 15.30mm and 55.41 x 22.61 x 15.66mm.
Both translucent jadeite of celadon tone, suffused with emerald green patches and streaks, one carved with a mantis catching the cicada and the other carved with oriole bird, symbolising covet gains ahead without being aware of danger behind.  

Condition

Accompanied by Hong Kong Jade & Stone Laboratory certificate no. SJ 180820, dated 15 February 2019, stating that the jadeite tested is natural, known in the trade as "A Jade". Please refer to the certificate for further details. Oval cylindrical stand engraved with carver's name. Jadeite of translucent celadon material, suffused with emerald green patches and streaks, upon strong illumination, there are clouds throughout, a few internal fissures, and some minor abrasions, a few nicks and a few scratches mainly on the stand but are hardly noticeable under normal lighting. Overall in very good condition.
