Condition
The canvas is original. There is some undulation to the canvas at the extreme corners. There is a pattern of very fine diagonal lines of craquelure across the surface, only visible upon close inspection. There is some reticulation in places, including to the peach coloured pigment near the centre and in the yellow pigment at the lower right edge. There is also some craquelure in the yellow pigment at the centre of the upper edge, with some minor flecks of associated loss. There is a raise to the canvas in the yellow pigment at the upper edge. There are a small number of tiny flecks of loss elsewhere. There is some surface dirt throughout and some studio matter. Inspection under ultra violet light reveals no obvious signs of fluorescence or retouching. This excepting, the work appears in good overall condition. The work is held within a simple aluminium frame. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
