Condition

The board appears to be sound. There are two areas of loss in the upper right and left corners, as a result of framing screws protruding from the other side. There is an isolated area at the centre of the right edge with fine lines cracking, with one or two further possible smaller instances elsewhere. There are one or two very minor and possible flecks of historic loss, only visible upon close inspection. There is some possible historic flattening of impasto tips. There is evidence of pinheads at the edges in places. There are two nicks in the upper right corner. There is some surface dirt and studio matter apparent. This excepting the work appears to be in very good overall condition. Please contact the department for an ultra violet inspection report. The work is held within a painted wooden slip frame. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
