  • 18 1/4  by 15 in. (46.4 by 38.1 cm.)
Avalokiteshvara seated in maharajalilasana on a lotus rising from the ocean and within a fenced compound surrounded by trees, an inscribed pillar to the right, red Amitabha above flanked by two Gelukpa hierarchs, blue Akshobya below to the left and white Vajrasattva and consort to the right, with green Tara and blue Ekajata beneath Himalayan Art Resources item no. 13610.

Acquired in India, Circa 1960’s, thence by descent.

Condition

In good overall condition. With areas of accretion, surface abrasion and creasing throughout. Areas of consolidated throughout where areas visible creasing is apparent, in the blue and green pigments. Mounted in brocade.
