Condition

It has not been possible to see the work entirely unframed. Executed on cream wove paper laid down on canvas. There is an uneven varnish. Examination under UV light reveals no evidence of retouching. There are pinholes, small paper losses and paper skinning at all four corners. There is a repaired tear (approx. 2 cm long) to the upper left corner and smaller repaired tears and dents along the extreme edges. There are a few flattened creases and bubbles related to the laying down process. There is a spot of light discoloration below the signature (as visible in the catalogue illustration) and a few superficial scratches in places. There are a few dots of dirt and fly spots ingrained to the varnish. This work is in overall fairly good condition.
