Condition

It has not been possible to see the work entirely unframed. There is a uneven milky varnish preventing UV light from fully penetrating, however examination under UV light appears to reveal no evidence of retouching. There is frame rubbing along the extreme edges associated with some thin lines of paint losses. There are stretcher bar marks along the extreme edges, away from the composition. There are scattered tiny dots of brown paint, probably consistent with the artist process. There is a superficial scuff (approx. 5 cm long) running diagonally across the upper left corner. Surface is dirty. This work is in overall fairly good condition and could benefit from a light clean.
