Condition

The canvas is lined. There is a thick varnish which prevents the UV light from fully penetrating, however UV examination does reveal several retouchings to the upper parts of the left and right edges, including some spots to the background to the right of the grey jug, one to the centre of the upper edge, and a line of retouching that corresponds to a repaired tear to the ochre jug. There is some paint shrinkage to some of the darker pigments. There are a few small losses to the stamped signature. This work is in overall good condition.
