Condition
The canvas is lined. Inspection under UV light reveals areas of retouching to the upper two corners, spots of retouching to the lower part of the left edge, as well as to the lower part of the right edge. There are further scattered spots of retouching to the willow tree to the left of the composition, to the water in the foreground and to the centre of the lower edge. There is paint shrinkage to the white pigments in the water. There are fine lines of stable craquelure to the composition, the most prominent of which is to the right part of the upper edge, with a minor associated paint loss. With nice impasto in places, this work is in overall good condition.
