The canvas is unlined. Scattered lines of craquelure throughout the canvas. There is some minor pigment shrinkage to the crimson and black pigments throughout the upper half of the painting. Some minor frame abrasion to the top and right edges. A pindot loss to the pigment in the center of the vase. A minor abrasion to the left hand below the thumb. A nailhead-sized loss toward the center of of the top edge, and a 1/2 inch loss to the pigment at the center of the bottom edge. Under UV light: Scattered minor strokes throughout the upper left quadrant, with an additional nailhead sized area of inpainting to address the abrasion in the left hand. Additional strokes of inpainting to the right hand and background, with a 1 inch crescent-shaped area of inpainting to right of the wrist. Strokes to the center of the left edge in addition to a 4 inch line of inpainting extending along the left edge. Scattered strokes throughout the feet and vase, including a 3 inch line of inpainting to the base of the vase at right. This work is in overall good condition.
