Condition

The canvas is lined. The surface is slightly dirty. There is pigment shrinkage and stable thin craquelure throughout the composition, especially in areas where the pigments are thickest. Under UV inspection, there is an inch-long stroke of inpainting in the red wallpaper of the upper left quadrant. There is inpainting in many areas where there is pigment shrinkage. There are a few smalls strokes of inpainting in the center of the lower edge, the upper left corner and the upper half of the right edge, likely to address frame abrasion. The work is in overall good condition.
