The canvas is lined. The canvas is slightly dirty and would benefit from a cleaning. There is wear to the canvas at all four corners, with the lining exposed in the upper left and upper right corners. There is a small piece of newspaper adhered to the canvas, just below the proper left arm of the sitter, which is possibly inherent to the artist's process. There is a faint scratch along the upper edge of the canvas, which is likely due to frame abrasion. Under UV light: no inpainting is apparent. This work is in good condition.
