Catalogue Note

Patek Philippe launched the reference 5131 in yellow gold at Baselworld in 2008. The following year, the firm introduced the white gold version.  Reference 5131G is considered a horological work of art with its hand painted cloisonné enamel dial depicting Euroasia.  The world-time mechanism allows the user to set the local time zone at the 12 o’clock position along with the hour and minute hands, while also displaying the correct time for the other time zones within the world at the same time.

Due to the highly difficult and meticulous nature of the enamelling process, Patek Philippe only produces a limited number of this reference every year, making this a highly sought-after watch among collectors. The reference was in fact already subject to a long waiting list at the time of production. Additionally, each dial is individually enameled by hand, resulting in no two dials being identical.

Anytime a reference 5131G appears on the market, collectors take notice – as it is as rare occurrence.  For those who are often traveling overseas or working internationally, this is the perfect addition to their collection.
