Catalogue Note

The present lot is one of very few surviving war time single button chronographs made by Cartier in the late 1930s to 40s. The single button chronograph is a sophisticated mechanism where by the complication is operated entirely through the crown. Originally developed in the 1920s, the single button chronograph was one of Cartier's earliest complications.

This timepiece has been professionally restored by Cartier as indicated by the accompanying service paperwork.
