Catalogue Note

The Lo Scienziato was the first skeletonized wristwatch ever produced by Panerai. The movement P 2005/S is the finely finished skeletonized version of their ever popular caliber P2005, also featured in lots 194-196.  Panerai's PAM350 Lo Scienziato (The Scientist) pays tribute Galileo Galilei, arguably one of the most important scientific minds in history and often called The Father of Modern Physics. During his lifetime (1564 - 1642) Galileo tackled the problems of time measurement. He demonstrated that the law of isochronism, or small oscillations of a pendulum could in fact be applied to the measurement of time itself. Founded in Florence, Italy, home of Galileo Galilei, Panerai shared the same core value of avant-garde and innovation with this most celebrated genius scientist.
