The present lot is a venerable juggernaut in the watchmaking world, combining the iconic Royal Oak with the industry's most desired complications in one Grand Complication timepiece. Powered by the firm's incredible in house caliber 2885 composed of 648 individual parts, this timepieces features a split second chronograph, perpetual calendar, and minute repeating along side moon phases and leap year indication to the dial.  It is both shocking and impressive to see this magnificent grand complication housed in an equally gargantuan 18k white gold sport case with bracelet. The present lot weighs in at nearly 400 grams. 

Since the firm’s inception in 1881, Audemars Piguet has been considered master of minute repeaters and grande complication watches. Undoubtedly, AP is best known for their Royal Oak line, created by world renowned designer Gerald Genta. Since the Royal Oak’s premiere at Basel in 1972, the model is a stand out and accounts for roughly 70% of the brands global sales.
