Catalogue Note
Made to commemorate the Gemini XI mission undertaken by astronauts Charles Conrad Jr. and Richard Gordon Jr. On this mission they successfully rendezvoused and docked with an unmanned vessel, the first time this had been acheived in direct-ascent, they also set the world record for the height of their orbit above earth, and also created artificial gravity in microgravity, another world first. These accomplishments are in part depicted on the logo that is featured on the dial of the present lot.
