From 1998 to 2003, Girard-Perragaux had released a series of three very complicated wristwatches that is based on the minute repeating complication known as the Opera series. The present watch referred to as the Opera One features two very intricate and unique complications, the brand’s iconic three golden bridge tourbillon and a four gongs minute repeater with a Westminster Carillon chime.
Arranged through a semi-skeletonised dial, one can adore the carefully engraved and designed golden bridge movement that secures the rotating tourbillon carriage. The true elegance of this watch, however, happens when the repeater is activated through the slide on the band. The visual pleasure of the four hammers striking the gong while producing the Sol-Do-Ré and M tone is a truly delightful experience.
Available in a marvelous condition, the Opera One is a fascinating interpretation of great Swiss watchmaking.
