Catalogue Note

In the early 1920's Alfred Helwig (1886-1974) invented what is now commonly known as the flying tourbillon. The flying tourbillon is fitted to the plate via the bearing and the carriage is built around the arbor, unlike the regular tourbillon which is fitted to the plate via a bridge. Glashütte issued this model, limited to 25 pieces only, to pay homage to the iconic watchmaker who created the complication in the early 20th century.
