The movement is in working condition at the time of cataloguing. The crystal with a minor wear at the center toward 1 o'clock. The enamel dial is intact and with extremely minor stain at 5 o'clock toward the edges, and is only visible with a strong loupe. The pearls to the bezel and hinge is all present. The enamel case back is in very good overall condition for its age and with light surface wear at places. The inside cover has been replaced with a crystal case back. Otherwise the watch is preserved in a good condition for its age. There is only light surface wear to the enamel glazing. Please note that the movement has not been tested for the accuracy of time and may need a service at the buyer's expense. This charming petite watch is retailed by Hope's Brothers & Co. a firm whom specialized in selling luxury goods. The movement is decoratively engraved which really appealed to the Chinese's taste at the time. These decorative movements later taken on the name 'Chinese Calibre'. The case is set with pearls and the case back is finished with polychrome enamel scene of a couple in fine dress with a bird cage.
