Catalogue Note

The Geophysic Chronometer by Jaeger-LeCoulre was made to celebrated the 125th anniversary of the manufacturer as well as mark the first Geophysical Year in 1958. It was an effort made to encourage scientific exploration and experimentation in the fields related to geophysics. Fitted with one of Jaeger-LeCoultre's most renowned chronometer movements available at the time, the watch was made to withstand the harshest climates one can possibly imagine.  With most examples available in the market cased in stainless steel, the present watch cased in yellow gold is a rare example. Furthermore, the case does not show heavy signs of polishing.
