Theodore B. Starr. Inc. was established in 1862 in New York City. In 1877, the firm relocated to Madison Square on the 5th Avenue and in 1899, an article in New York Times, they described the store as having the largest and most interesting exhibition of diamonds, jewelry, silverware and bronzes to be seen anywhere in the world.
