Condition

The movement is in working condition at the time of cataloguing. The chronograph function is working properly. The bezel with minor surface wear throughout and very minor surface scratch at 2 o'clock. The band with minor surface wear particularly at 9 o'clock. Underneath the lugs with minor surface wear from removing the bracelet. The case back with minor surface wear to the center due to the bracelet. Otherwise the watch is in good overall condition with no signs of polishing. The bracelet is in good overall condition light signs of wear at places. Please note that the movement has not been tested for the accuracy of time and may need a service at the buyer's expense. Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement and we do not guarantee the authenticity of any individual component parts since subsequent repairs and restoration work may have resulted in the replacement of original parts. Catalogue Note

The charming and athletic looking 18k white gold Daytona wristwatch is embedded with a light tone of elegance through its eye-catching pavé-set diamond dial. Made in 2007, the reference 116509 houses the calibre 4130 which is a very important movement as it is Rolex's first in-house chronograph movement.
Presented in original condition, the watch has a case preserved with sharp hallmarks beneath the lugs and a crisp milled finish to the back of its case.
