The movement is in working condition at the time of cataloguing. The calendar is advancing. The dial is original however it's aged throughout. The red date ring is tarnished with losses throughout. The case is very crisp with light wear with a hallmark underneath the lug. Overall the watch is a very nice and original example with light surface wear throughout. Please note that the movement has not been tested for the accuracy of time and may need a service at the buyer's expense. The reference 4240, manufactured by Vacheron Constantin, was available with or without moon phase display. The reference was very popular during the 1940s and 50s that it was re-launched by Vacheron Constantin in 2017. The present watch is highlighted with a crisp pink gold case with fancy lugs and is a nice example of this extremely popular vintage reference.
