Condition

MVT: is running at the time of cataloguing and the date advancing. CASE: in very good condition with sharpness to the lugs, nice proportions and metal-brushed finishing to the top of the lugs. The hallmarks on the back are very crisp. There is light surface wear visible with the naked eye when closely examining the case and there are some surface scratches on the back where the bracelet is attached. The bracelet is in attractive condition with some light warping and some surface wear. DIAL: in attractive condition with fine blemishes visible when very closely examining the dial. The luminous material reacts uniformly under UV light and fades right after exposure. The is some loss to the lume plots, especially at 1 and 3 o'clock. Please note that the movement has not been tested for the accuracy of time and may need a service at the buyer's expense. Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement and we do not guarantee the authenticity of any individual component parts since subsequent repairs and restoration work may have resulted in the replacement of original parts. The present watch is highlighted by an extravagant blue 'Stella' dial that really stands out on this remarkable Day-Date from 1974. In addition to its rarity, the watch has been kept in a very good overall condition.
