Catalogue Note

The perpetual calendar is a complication that has very long ties with Audemars Piguet. Since the 1910s, Audemars Piguet hase been producing stylized unique perpetual calendar pocket watches that were highly differentiated from those that were made from other leading Swiss brands. As the popularity of complicated wristwatches has increased, in 1955 Audemars Piguet produced the world’s first perpetual calendar wristwatch that would feature a leap year indication.

The current watch is a Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar ref. 25820 that was made available with 12 different dials with a selection of materials such as stainless steel, 18k yellow gold, platinum, stainless steel with platinum and 18k pink gold with tantalum.
