Catalogue Note

Zenith had begun the development of its automatic chronograph in 1962 and planned to launch it for the 1965 centennial. However the project was suspended and it was not until December 1968 that Zenith had its first prototypes. Announced in January 1969, Zenith A386 housed the first incorporated automatic chronograph movement named El Primero. The total production has been estimated to approximately 2500 watches between 1969-1972.
