Catalogue Note

An exercise in ultimate chic, this watch immediately summons images of 50s Hollywood, and it cannot be argued that it would be most at home peaking from the cuff of Cary Grant's sport jacket. Introduced in 1921 the Tank Cintrée continues production to this day testament to its timeless design and elegance. Measuring nearly 46 mm in length the elongated case was incredibly avant guarde as at the time smaller watches were very much favoured. The design is also curved molding to the wearers wrist, and, when on its bracelet becomes almost a 'cuff' in and of itself.

The present lot is in superb original condition and with the addition of its original yellow gold link bracelet and deployant clasp this has to be one of the finest examples of this model to come to auction in recent years.
