Condition

MVT: is running at the time of cataloguing and the date advancing. Please note that there are very minute corrosion spots visible on the movement. CASE: in great condition with sharp lugs that still retain brushed finishing. Some very fine surface marks visible to the bands and lugs as well as some signs of a very light polishing. There are two visible surface scratches on the case back. Bracelet is in very good condition with minor surface wear and minor stretching. The clasp is stamped 78790 and the endlinks 501B. DIAL: in very good condition with very fine surface marks and some blemishes to the luminous material. Please note that the movement has not been tested for the accuracy of time and may need a service at the buyer's expense. Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement and we do not guarantee the authenticity of any individual component parts since subsequent repairs and restoration work may have resulted in the replacement of original parts. The Rolex GMT reference 16700 was first introduced in 1988 and was in production until 1998. The reference featured the updated calibre 3175 that offered a hack feature and quickset date. The present watch is also accompanied by its original accessories.
