Description

Of foliate design, featuring white and gray baroque cultured pearls, set throughout with rose-cut diamonds, total gross weight approximately 108 dwts, earclip pendants detachable, necklace pendant detachable for wear as a brooch, necklace length 15½ inches, signed Buccellati, Italy, with Italian registry marks; circa 1970. With signed box.

Condition

In overall good condition, the mounting with minor wear and moderate discoloration to the gold. The necklace clasp scratched c 1917 and signed Buccellati on reverse of clasp and brooch pin stem clutch. The earclips stamped 18k Italy, scratch numbered 21408, and signed Gianmaria Buccellati. The baroque pearls, largest measuring approximately 25.1 x 21.0 mm, the remainder measuring approximately 15.9 x 12.9 mm to 13.6 x 11.3 mm, in varying shades of white and grey, with moderate to strong overtones of rose, green, aubergine and blue orient, fair to good luster with moderate to heavy wrinkling and uneven skins, typical of baroque pearls. The rose-cut diamonds weighing a total of approximately 27.00 carats, approximately G-K color, VS-SI clarity. The earclips measuring approximately 2 1/4 x 1 inch. Pendant-brooch detachable. Ear-pendants detachable.
