- Height 6 7/8 in., 17.5 cm
carved in the round with a smiling scholar dressed in long robes holding a staff, accompanied by a similarly jovial attendant grasping a stalk of millet, both standing on and backed by a tall pierced and jagged rock formation, the stone a warm celadon with faint white mottling
Condition
The carving is in overall good condition with only a few small, shallow chips to the rockwork and minor expected surface wear. The stone has a few natural fissures (as illustrated) is a slightly more translucent white tone compared to the illustration in the printed catalog.
