Description

  • Diameter 5 1/2  in., 14 cm
each with low rounded sides set over a tapered foot and rising to an everted rim, the interior centered with four cranes in flight amidst wisps of clouds all within a double circle, the motif repeated around the exterior with eight cranes, the negative space on both sides in yellow overglaze enamel, the base with a six-character mark in underglaze blue (2)

Condition

One dish is in generally good condition with only minor expected wear to the surface, including scratches to the interior. The second dish has five small chips to the underside of the rim (four are restored), a short hairline crack from the rim, and a U-shaped firing line to the interior.
