Description

  • 15.5 cm, 6 in. 
the compressed globular body rising from a short spreading foot to a broad flaring neck, painted around the exterior with two bands of scaly five-clawed dragons amidst scrolling leafy lotus, the interior of the neck similarly painted, all above a ruyi band at the foot, the base inscribed with the four-character mark in underglaze-blue within a double circle

Condition

The zhadou is in good condition with the exception of over-painting to the underside of the rim extending approximately 8cm., two rim firing cracks circa 1cm., and 0.4cm., long, some minor rim fritting and minor glaze firing imperfections including a short glaze firing line and burst glaze bubbles to the interior and light glaze scratches.
