- Height 41 1/2 in.
one chair and slipseat marked V and the other chair marked X with slipseat III.
Provenance
John Walton, Inc, Hewett City, Connecticut.
Condition
Chair X - Wear commensurate with age and use. Both front legs previously cracked and reglued at the knee where they meet the seat rail. Age cracks to the proper right stretcher along the underside. A 1" diameter in-filled knot to the medial stretcher. A small loss to the ring turning on the proper right stretcher. Chair V - Wear commensurate with age and use. The crestrail and splat shoe was previously cracked, reglued and patched at the junction with the supports and the splat, patch above splat and to the splat foot measures 1.5" by 6" (approximately). The interior of the post at the top of each front leg was previously cracked and reglued.
