Description
Château Haut Brion 1983 Pessac-Léognan (Graves), 1er Cru Classéu. 3x3cm, 3x3.5cm, 4x4cm, labels faded, 5 nicked, 6 damp stained including 5 slightly torn, 3 capsules slightly corroded, 1 cork slightly depressedIn 2017, and after 3 weeks without Claret (don't ask - Retsina is pretty good), an inebriating, spicy, rich bouquet of classy earthiness, enveloping you with its whiffs of cigar tobacco. On the palate, I cannot remember it being so opulent, having filled out and become richer with bottle age. It has a mouth-coating, velvet texture, strong personality and aromatic intensity - a fantastic sensation all round.
