Château Cheval Blanc 1982 St. Emilion, 1er Grand Cru Classé (A)u. 4bn, 3vts, packed in a 12-bottle OWC, slightly bin-soiled labels, 2 of which peeling, slightly scuffed capsules, 2 of which nicked, 2 slightly sunken corks, heavily pen-marked case, excellent color and clarityOver Christmas 2017, we drank quite a bit of this and it is glorious. One always remembers that an astonishing 54 hl/hectare were made, that magic combination of quality and quantity. Equally noteworthy is the 12.8% alcohol! It has all the spices and leather of textbook Cheval Blanc, rich, powerful and mouth-filling - splendid with roast goose. It has years ahead of it.
