Description

Featuring a micromosaic landscape of the Roman Forum, applied on red hardstone within a hammered gold mounting, size 7¾.

Condition

In good condition, the mounting with light scratches, a few small dents, and some minor discoloration, not noticeable when worn. Mounting tests as 22 karat gold. The micromosaic is made up of glass tesserae, within glass surrounds. Micromosaic intact and in very good condition. The red hardstone is a medium dark to deep red, with a few areas of black veining, in good condition with a few minor dents along the edges, noticeable under 10x magnification. Gross weight approximately 19 dwts. Diameter measuring approximately 1⅛ inches.
