Description
The pendant collet-set with a stained green hardstone cameo depicting a bearded youth, possibly Neptune, within a border of tumbled emerald beads and circular-cut tsavorite garnets, brooch fittings signed Hemmerle, maker's mark, to a chain composed of oval linking, alternate links pavé-set with circular-cut tsavorite garnets, unsigned, length adjustable, total length approximately 1275mm.
Condition
Pendant/brooch signed Hemmerle, stamped with maker's mark GH for Hemmerle, marked Ag 925 and 750 Au. Chain unsigned. Emerald beads drilled, total weight of emeralds stated to be 70.77 carats. Cameo carving in good condition, measuring approximately 33 x 25mm. Total weight of tsavorite garnets stated to be 3.57 carats (on brooch/pendant only). Overal dimensions of pendant when detached as brooch approximately 64 x 55mm. Length of chain attached to pendant fitting approximately 370mm, links forming clasp misshapen and worn. Remaining length of chain approximately 905mm, dividing into two chains each measuring approximately 375 and 530mm respectively. Metal with green and black patination, overall in good condition. Gross weight approximately 274 grams.
