COLOURED SAPPHIRE, YELLOW DIAMOND AND DIAMOND BROOCH, 'MICKEY MOUSE', HEMMERLE

Modelled as a figure of Mickey Mouse with outstretched arms, composed of blackened iron, pavé-set with circular-cut reddish orange sapphires and brilliant-cut diamonds of yellow and colourless tints, the eyes of oxidised silver and tongue of burnt copper, signed Hemmerle, maker's mark for Hemmerle, copyright mark for Disney.

Soles of feet signed Hemmerle, maker's mark GH for Hemmerle, marked Au 750, Ag925, and Cu and Fe for copper and iron, other foot stamped Disney with copyright mark. Diamonds (yellow and colourless) stated to weigh a total of 10.23 carats: Dark golden diamonds on shoes - 3.15 carats, gloves - 3.02 carats, face - 4.06 carats. Red sapphires stated to weigh a total of 9.60 carats. Diamonds on the face all fluoresce white. Break to left ankle, restuck. Areas of very light wear to patinated surfaces, overall in good condition. Overall dimensions approximately 57 x 50mm, gross weight approximately 41.6 grams.
