DIAMOND AND ENAMEL VANITY CASE, CARTIER, CIRCA 1925

Description

The rectangular case applied with black enamel, the hinge and thumbpiece set with single-cut, baguette and rose diamonds, opening to reveal a lidded compartment, lipstick and mirror, measuring approximately 63 x 50 x 8mm, signed Cartier, numbered, French assay marks and maker's mark.

Condition

Signed Cartier Paris, numbered 00210 01234 (slightly indistinct), stamped with French assay marks and import assay marks for 18 carat gold, and maker's mark for Henri Lavabre. Estimated total diamond weight approximately 2.00-3.00 carats. One very small scratch on enamel. Mirror with some specks of tarnish, small crack on top left, but held securely in place. Gross weight approximately 142 grams. Overall condition good.
