SAPPHIRE AND DIAMOND NECKLACE, LATE 19TH CENTURY COMPOSITE

Description

Composed of rectangular links spaced with cushion-shaped diamonds in floral claw settings, the back links of pierced foliate design, the front set with cushion-shaped diamonds and suspending a graduated fringe of pendants set with circular-cut diamonds and cabochon sapphires, length approximately 385mm.

Condition

Diamonds of mixed colour and clarity grades, estimated total diamond weight approximately 8.00 - 10.00 carats. Central sapphire measuring approximately 7.0 x 9.0 x 4.7mm, calculated to weigh approximately 3.19 carats. Areas of discolouration to metal, some pendants very slightly bent. Overall in good condition. Gross weight approximately 49.9 grams.
