Description

Claw-set with a step-cut emerald weighing 7.17 carats, to a mount of scroll design millegrain-set with circular-cut diamonds.

Mounted as part of a tiara, in the collection of Annie Pearson, née Cass, 1st Viscountess Cowdray (1860-1932)
Agnes Beryl Pearson, née Spencer Churchill, 2nd Viscountess Cowdray (1881-1948)
Hon. Daisy Yoskyl Consuelo Pearson (1906 - 1979)
Thence by descent to her daughter (illustrated wearing it), who subsequently had the emeralds removed from the tiara, distributing them within the family.

Condition

Accompanied by SSEF report no. 104993, stating that the emerald is of Colombian origin, with indications of moderate clarity enhancement with oil. Emerald measuring approximately 12.08 x 11.55 x 7.57mm, weighing 7.177 carats, some surface-reaching inclusions with some very minor resulting chips. Esimated total diamond weight approximately 1.40 - 1.80 carats. Overall dimensions approximately 29 x 25mm, gross weight approximately 8.0 grams. Overall in good condition.
