Description

  • 45 cm., 16 1/2  in. wide.
the black lacquer suji kabuto of akoda-nari style with elaborate copper-gilt fittings, forty-eight plates, gilt engraved kanemono and fukigaeshi [turnbacks], decorated in stencilled leather, mitsukuwagata dai, four-tier shikoro [neckgaurd], with iron hanbo with three-tier shikoro yodare-kake [bib]

Condition

- There are some small cracks to the lacquer on the kabuto and some minor chips to the edges, there is some wear to the lacing, on the mask some chips to the red lacquer on the inside some wear to the lacing. - The silver inlay on the inside of the chin is slightly oxidised but is a very finely inlaid. - Overall this is a fine helmet.
