Condition

Unexamined out of the frame. There are some nicks and scuffs to the edges of the board, and some tiny associated flecks of loss. There is some very slight rounding to the extreme corners. There is a horizontal crack running through the centre of the central panel, which appears to run through the whole panel. This appears to be stable. There is some fraying to the lower right edge of this panel. There are some cracks to the surface of the edge of the central panel, particularly to where the panel meets the backing board, with a few associated flecks of loss. There are some tiny flecks of loss scattered throughout the work, only visible upon close inspection. There is some surface dirt and studio matter throughout. Subject to the above the work appears to be in very good overall condition. Inspection under ultra violet light reveals areas of fluorescence in keeping with the Artist's materials and working methods. The work is slip mounted and held behind glass in a painted wooden frame and slip. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
