The board appears sound as is providing a stable support. The board is ver slightly bowed in the centre. There is a some fine localised craquelure in the upper portion of the composition. Some specks of surface dirt and some minor surface scratches in the lower half of the figure's chest. Otherwise the wrok appreas to be in good condition. UV light inspection reveals areas in the lower left and lower right hand corners. Some flecked retouching to the left of the figure's head. A few minor touches to the figure's hat. Retouching along the upper framing edge. Some very minor touches elsewhere. Held in a simple gilt frame.
