Condition

The canvas is original. There are Artist's pinholes in each corner. There are stretcher bar marks at the upper and lower edges, and fainter marks along the left and right edges. There are very small flecks of loss to all edges, due to frame abrasion, not visible in the present frame. There are some scattered fine lines of craquelure in places. There is also some evidence of reticulation near the right hand window pane, in the lower right quadrant. There is a small push to the canvas in the lower right quadrant of the work. This excepting the work appears to be in very good overall condition. Inspection under ultra violet light reveals no obvious signs of fluorescence or retouching. The work is held within a simple wooden frame. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
