Description

  • Four Light Chandelier
  • lacquered patinated brass
  • high 125cm., 49in.
  • 19th century
with four Victorian acid-etched globular shades, electrified

Condition

Very decorative. Brass tarnished in places. Shades probably later. The chains 'stiffened' with later strengthening metal, some of these mis-shapen and one link detached from this but easily fixed. This probably started life as a gasolier before becoming an electrolier, It will require re-wiring by a professional electrican. Old marks and scratches consistent with age. Shades probably late 19th or perhaps 20th century but good although one securing screw-pin lacking.
