Surface dirt is visible throughout the surface, notably in the crevices, with moss and lichen consistent with the long lasting outside exposure of the sphinx. There are some chips and losses visible to the high points in some places and larger losses visible along the lower edges of the bases, with a reattached element visible to the front of one base. The surface is eroded throughout with some areas more weathered, notably on the face of one sphinx, with a few small losses visible in some places. The separate bases with losses along the upper and lower edges. One base with a larger loss to one upper angle and another one to the lower edge.
