A SUITE OF FOUR ITALIAN CARVED GILT WALNUT STOOLS, PIEDMONT, LATE 17TH/EARLY 18TH CENTURY |

Estimate
8,000 - 12,000 EUR
bidding is closed

Description

on four square tapering legs joined with an X stretcher; covered with red velvet; (restorations)

Provenance

Galleria Accorsi, Torino

Condition

The photograph is quite accurate. As visible, the crimson velvet is extensively worn. As said, they were repaired a long time ago and now they would need a global restoration: each stool is rather loose and there are several scattered chips to the giltwood, as well as small parts redone such as finials on the centre of stretchers.
