Examined out of the frame. Oil on cradled, stable panel. The surface presents well, aside from minor surface dust and some gold paint from a frame visible at the extreme edges. Under UV: there is inpainting along the joins of the panel; small retouches near the horses at center and on the soldier's proper left shoulder; some possible older faint retouches in the sky at upper left; and a few dots of inpainting scattered at the extreme edges.
