Condition

Examined in the frame. Lined. The surface is visibly dirty and would benefit from a clean. There are a few thin lines of discolored varnish on the baby's head. Stable fine craquelure is visible across the picture surface and there is a pin dot of loss on the top of the girl's head. Minor frame abrasion with some associated small losses along the top edge. Under UV: heavy varnish fluoresces green unevenly and in a streaky manner in the background. There are a few dots of old retouching on the sides of the girl's forehead.
